March Ordinary Lovely Things for You

When you and your man show up in matching outfits for church, you have to capture the moment. Maybe because we have been spending loads of time together or we're embracing the green team spirit. Who knows. But it definitely made me smile.

What good things are you seeing this month? Here's what's happening around here.

Scripture On My Heart...

If there was one scripture that captures spring, this might be it:

Isaiah 43:19

"See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland."

Right now I'm so ready for streams in the wasteland. As spring unfurls this season, I'm waiting and watching with anticipation for the fresh things that God is creating in my life.

I Remember...

Easter gatherings with a fuller table. This time of year is bittersweet as I remember family members who are no longer here. Even though my table has fewer place settings, my heart is full of sweet memories. I'm remembering that family doesn't have to be limited to only those in your gene pool.

I Hope To...

Create new traditions this season. Even though I've consistently celebrated Easter a certain way doesn't mean I can't do something new. I hope to rest in what the scripture invites, looking for the fresh things God wants to do.

I Pray...

Praying to be bolder in prayer. Instead of just saying "I'll pray for you" -- my intention is to stop and pray right on the spot. I'm practicing that - sometimes with awkwardness. But the more you do something, the better you get at it.

I Celebrate...

Celebrating the Easter season, whatever it looks like - whether it's quiet and solitary or noisy and full. If I'm honest, sometimes it's hard to wrap my mind around the cross. There is so much about my faith that I still don't understand. But I do understand His love for us. When I can fully rest in this gift, I don't have to understand anything. Just love, that's all.

What About You?

What's lovely and ordinary about your March? I invite you to take some time to enjoy the season - whether with peaceful solo time or gathering with friends that feel like family. May you celebrate all the ordinary and lovely days you are given.

I do love to celebrate the ordinary. It's those little things that keep showing us to be hopeful, push on just like the blossoms of spring push through the soil. Good words, Cara.
